I shall add to this a bit later.
lag with bookmarks
Published on December 7, 2005 By HauntingMorgana In
While WB5 is active, using the Opera browser, while clicking on the bookmarks it seems that my system lags.

Meaning, as soon as I click on the bookmarks, taskmanager shows like 30% cpu usage. This has never happened with WB4.

Unloading WB5 there is no problem with clicking on the Opera bookmarks.

Thanks.

Hmmm, I notice a cpu rise when clicking links too. I don't think this is unusual, IE does the same, but to a lesser extent. Dunno...

Thanks for the reply. Well, at least it's not my imagination then.

Same here with Opera. Using Firefox 1.5 it jumps to 60-80% momentarily. Don't think its a anything major though.

I just tried it with Opera and got a brief peak of 2 or 3% to 22% but no noticable system lag. Similarly with FF, a brief peak up to 23%, and in IE a peak of 25%, no lag.

I should point out that the firefox menus are not skinned by WB, so its not WB impacting the cpu usage there.

In Opera it seems there was a problem with how WB repainted menus when you moved up & down them.  This has been tweaked for the next beta build which should be downloadable via SDC later today.
